Code Review For DMP engine

Great job on this code: it is in good shape, works well, and does what is says on the tin efficiently. This code review focused mostly on spotting potential edge-case bugs where they may occur, harmonizing notation on Occassion, streamlining code where possible, and flagging a small handful of potential typos. I have run the three main program files (before and after suggested edits) and got the streamlit app to work on my mac with modest additional downloads (pypandoc, LaTeX compiler).
